MEET OUR tastemaker: CASSANDRA STONE

@dressuncoded

"YÓU YÓU HAS GIVEN ME THE CONFIDENCE TO GO OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE WITH MY COOKING. I’VE HAD MY FAIR SHARE OF OIL BURNS IN THE KITCHEN. TEA SEED OIL IS SUCH A GAME CHANGER — I CAN FRY THINGS WITH BETTER CONTROL OF THE OIL TEMPERATURE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT GETTING SPLASHED IN THE FACE!"

Digital Creator Cassandra Stone is a blogger for dress(un)coded, and has loved cooking from a young age. With her parents ethnically Sichuanese and Fujianese, she was surrounded by a blend of Asian and Southeast Asian cuisine growing up.

Cook It!

Interestingly, when it comes to cooking, "a lot of immigrant children experience the same thing, where their families don’t measure anything or don't use recipes when they cook," says Cassandra. She has gotten much more involved with cooking in an effort to preserve her grandparents recipes over the years, and has been experimenting to try and recreate their dishes.

To Cassandra, there is no wrong place to be when it comes to food — it's all about finding the places that are most in touch with local culture. Some of the most memorable food destinations that Cassandra has visited includes Taipei and Berlin.

In addition to cooking, Cassandra's personal blog also talks about everything from fashion to beauty to politics to tech. She also enjoys reading and watching cheesy Netflix romcoms!
